This National Historic Register home was built in 1870 by an Irish immigrant, and has been a restful haven for travelers to Middle Tennessee since 1985.

Conveniently located only one hour from Nashville, two hours from Memphis and 10 minutes from Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch at Hurricane Mills, The Nolan House Bed & Breakfast, sitting on eight acres in the country, offers warm ambiance and genuine Southern hospitality.

The Victorian style house with 11 rooms has a unique design all on one floor. The three guest rooms are beautifully decorated with antiques with private entrances to the East Porch, and have private baths and fireplaces.

There is a comfortably furnished common room for guests to enjoy television, reading or to use the telephone. The adjoining Great Room (22×28) reveals lovely but functional antiques, and lace curtains float in the 10 feet windows that overlook the South Porch to the Gazebo in the garden.

Healthy, fresh baked muffins and breads greet guests for Continental Plus breakfast, served on fine china at the dining table. Soft Celtic music floats from the original hardwood floors to the crystal chandelier which hangs from the 14′ ceiling.

Croquet and horseshoes await you in the garden, or simply relax in a wicker rocker on the porch, enjoying the peaceful country atmosphere.

History Note: Jesse James stayed at the Nolan House in August of 1877.  The documented visit is described in detail at the Humphrey’s County Museum in Waverly.
